Kendra layed on the highest spot of their little hill. She stared into the distance. Nayan was somewhere for searching some prey. They alternate with one another every time. Yesterday Kendra was going hunting. Today it was Nayan’s task and Kendra had to keep an eye of the youngsters. This became fraught more and more because the puppies left the den now. They explored the environment, played and squeaked. The two helhunds never dare to stop check them out. One of the five pubs, the smaller female has a particular thirst for adventure. She absented oneself and Kendra had to follow her. She stood up and followed the pup while the other puppies followed her. When she saw her little daughter Kendra did a sound for warning, a mix between a short growl and a bark. The pup didn’t turn around. She stared to concenter her mother didn’t see. Kendra trudged to her daughter and did a quick snatch next to the puppie’s flank. A pup which doesn’t listen to their parents lives very risky. They must learn that a hesitation could be perilous. At this moment Kendra saw whats the pup did observed. A polar bear. An adult, enormous, male polar bear. There were no much time for considering. Kendra growled again and all five pups recoiled. “Stay at the busch! Don’t move before I come back! ..I need an idea how I can keep away this monster” she muttered to herself. It wasn’t understandable . Never before they have seen a polar bear here. Normally they live next to the sea. Kendra drew a line from him and approximated from the left side. Then she barked loud and nasty. The bear turned around and bellowed but he didn’t be down on her. He wanted along to the den. Kendra ran toward him and bit into his face. She was a great hunter and knew that the muzzle is the most sensitive point of a bear. She ceased from him and jumped to the other side. Then she starts a new attack before he stoke back. He roared earsplitting and lunged out with his huge paw and the sharp claws nab Kendra on the left side. She fell that she bleeded . The wounds weren’t very deep but she knew that she couldn’t expel this bear alone. “Nayan, where are you? This time I can’t win this fight by myself… “ She bridled up her head into the nape and uttered a deep howling. Her body hurt and she panted now. The bear got her in his sights. He reared up and snarled. Then she heard it. Fast paws in the snow. Nayan was along the way. He would come and together they would lead off the fight. But the red fur wasn’t Nayan’s. Naik scudded upwards the hill bareing his teeth. One second Kendra was shocked. But there were no time for this. She dived forwardly and both helhunds attack the bear at the same moment. The surprise made him stumbled till he stood on four legs again. Naik gwent for his throat from one side. Kendra from the other side. A short moment they looked eachother in the eye. They released him. The bear snarled again but he didn’t assaulted them. His eyes switched between the two hunds in front of him. Then he swang around and left the hill. Kendra was breathless. The disaster ceased so abrupt. Naik was back. They fought together… When Nayan finds out. Kendra glanced to Naik. “You all right?“ she asked him. “Alrighty!“ he answered. „And you? You don’t look really good..“ “It’s okay. Only some scratches.“ In the past Naik had respond some inappropriate words and Kendra hat answered a spiteful comment. But nobody of them said a word.
To be continue...

next part:
Oh yes, this took a while. Sorry for all who waited :> Another part of the little helhund story. Two hund and a bear. I never drew a polar bear in a real pic before (only some sketches of headshots). But I think it's recognizable^^
Danke Nuffel. Nee, Narben sieht man nicht durch das dichte Fell, aber die roten streifen bleiben. Und ju, sobald wir ein ungefähres alter festgelegt haben editier ich sie.
this is fantastic, my whole room of people marveled at the many glorious details of this piece, i was stuck dragging the scollbar up and down and zooming in for people to admire all the different places, like the snow detail, and the tails, to the distant awesome mountains. the shadow play you have here is fantastic, and gives a great dynamic that really makes naik Shine in the scene as a hero despite the previous darkness. that polar bear is great, and very scary, you can tell hes not sure who to attack, but wants to thwart both of them! dang, i am just in love with that rolling hillsde with all those distant trees myself, and of course the whole anatomy and marvel of the helhunds in action!! save those pups! (oh wow, i cannot wait to see this continue, i can see you guys have been working the personalities of the pups beautifully, i love their genealogies so much!)
You know, it just came into my mind that I wonder how they even hunt with those huge poofy tails. How can they sneak up on prey with their tails dragging on the ground all the time? Just wondering.
Arme Kendra, editirst du dann auch gleich ihr ref. Sind in den markings dann narben?
Ach aber schön dynamisch und das schnee geusche an pfoten und schanz. *_*
